Jesus went to the synagogue, as was his custom

I was studying the life of Jesus recently…

…and I was struck by the verse that says, “and Jesus went to the synagogue on the Sabbath, as was his custom.“

Actually, I think it’s most remarkable. His “custom?” Why would Jesus need to go to church? Does he need to be sanctified? Nope. He’s sinless. Does Jesus need to worship God? Nope. As God the son, He is the one who should be the object of worship. Does Jesus need to hear the thoughts of a preacher like me? Nope. He is the “logos“ of God. And yet he went, “as was his custom.”

What can we learn from this?
