Is Your Faith Like Noah's?
Sunday, June 26. Let’s prepare our hearts and minds for the 9:30 AM In-person, 11:00 AM In-person/Livestream Worship Service, and the sermon by reviewing the bible readings, confession, and reflection.
Bible Reading 1: Isaiah 26:19-21 (ESV)
19 Your dead shall live; their bodies shall rise. You who dwell in the dust, awake and sing for joy! For your dew is a dew of light, and the earth will give birth to the dead. 20 Come, my people, enter your chambers, and shut your doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until the fury has passed by. 21 For behold, the Lord is coming out from his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity, and the earth will disclose the blood shed on it, and will no more cover its slain.
Creed/Confession: WLC 189: What does the preface of the Lord’s Prayer teach us?
The preface of the Lord’s Prayer (contained in these words, Our Father which art in heaven), teaches us, when we pray, to draw near to God with confidence of his fatherly goodness, and our interest therein; with reverence, and all other childlike dispositions, heavenly affections, and due apprehensions of his sovereign power, majesty, and gracious condescension: as also, to pray with and for others.
Sermon Texts: Hebrews 11:7 (ESV)
Come into the ark of Noah.
By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.
Reflection
“We are saved by faith alone, but the faith that saves is never alone.” True and saving faith is always accompanied by obedience, “which flows from faith like water from a fountain.” – John Calvin
We hope you can join us on June 26 (9:30 AM In-person, 11:00 AM In-person/Livestream) as Pastor John speaks about these verses. Here are the complete details for Sunday’s Service.
