The D2D Ministry of NSCC Families to Children and Youth

Let’s prepare our hearts and minds for the Sunday, September 12 worship service and sermon (In-Person 9:30 AM & In-person/Livestream at 11:00 AM) by reviewing the bible readings, confession, and reflection. Coffee/Tea/Juice served after each service.

Bible Reading 1: Proverbs 1:7-9 (ESV)

Proverbs 1:7-9 (ESV)

7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;

    fools despise wisdom and instruction.

8 Hear, my son, your father's   instruction,

    and forsake not your mother's teaching,

9 for they are a graceful  garland for your head

    and pendants for your neck.

Confession/Creed: NSCC Core Value # 12

We will strengthen marriages and families – In a day when marriages and families struggle to survive we want to cultivate families that live together with Jesus Christ.  We will learn and live out practical ways in which we may follow God’s will for our families.

Visit www.nscc.live/core-values for all 12 core values.

Bible Reading 2: Matthew 19:13-14 (ESV)

Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, 14 but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

Reflection

Right now, God greatly delights in us (you), quiets us with his love, and joyfully sings to/over us (Zeph.3:17). NOT on the basis because of our paltry Christ-like-ness, but on the basis of our perfect “in-Christ-ness” and “Christ-within-ness.” Nothing matters more.
